I am sick of running on the treadmill (and I generally watch cooking shows while running indoors, which leads to indulgence...). So, today I looked out the window and saw a bright, sunny day. The outdoor thermometer is broken, but I thought, "how cold could it be?" So I got all suited up in tights, layers, hat, gloves and Ipod and went on out for a run.
The temperature (in the low 30s) wasn't the problem... it was the wind. The first 20 minutes of this I'm-too-stubborn-to-just-go-home run was directly into an arctic headwind. Lovely... where the heck is Spring??? The run turned out OK -- it actually felt nice during the 3 1/2 minutes I was sheltered from the wind -- but now I am creaky. My knees hate me. So I'm having some chocolate chip scones, with a side of ibuprofen.
One of the many random things I thought of while running... if March comes in like a lion, didn't anyone consider that lions live in the tropical heat of the JUNGLE!
Distance: About 4 miles, Time: 38:14 (yeah, I'm slow, but I have to exercise to counter my cooking problem...)
